Plain-language policy

Privacy stays on your drafting table.

Effective August 27, 2026

Sim Lab Replay is designed to work without student accounts, analytics, advertising, or identity tracking. The public recorder library sends no data anywhere.

What stays on your device

The authoring site stores your current lesson draft in your browser’s local storage so it can survive a refresh. If Studio is unlocked, it also stores your class-collection manifest locally. Observation text entered in an exported replay stays in that open page and is not sent to us.

Files you choose to export

JSON and HTML lesson files are created locally by your browser. We do not receive them. You decide where to save, host, or share those files. A simulation URL included in a lesson can load that simulation, whose own privacy policy may apply.

License verification

If you buy or restore Studio, the license token is stored in local storage under sb_license:sim-lab-replay. At most once per day, the site sends that token to Sociobot’s license verification endpoint. The cached verdict and check time are stored locally. Sociobot/Dodo acts as merchant of record and processes checkout information on its hosted pages; payment details never pass through this site.

Network and offline behavior

A service worker caches the application shell for offline use. There are no third-party fonts, scripts, pixels, or analytics calls. The only optional runtime requests are a simulation URL you provide and license verification for Studio users.

Delete your local data

Use your browser’s site-data controls to remove local drafts, collection manifests, cached files, and license data. Download any lesson you want to keep first.

Contact

Questions can be opened in the project’s public issue tracker. Do not post a license token or student information.
