Effective August 27, 2026
These terms cover the Sim Lab Replay website, open-source library, exported lessons, and optional Studio license.
Open-source library
The npm library and repository are licensed under the MIT License. You may use, copy, modify, and distribute them subject to that license. They are provided “as is,” without warranty.
Your lessons and simulations
You retain rights to content you create. You are responsible for having permission to embed or link a simulation and for checking that a replay is scientifically and pedagogically appropriate. Sim Lab Replay records events; it does not verify a simulation’s physics or grade a student’s answer.
Student use
Do not put student names, email addresses, identifiers, grades, or sensitive information into event labels, prompts, filenames, or collection manifests. The product is not an LMS or surveillance tool.
Studio purchase
Studio costs $24 as a one-time purchase. It unlocks local class-collection manifests for up to 30 lessons and includes access to hosted collection features if and when those are released. The core recorder, replay, transcript, JSON export, and HTML export remain free.
Sociobot/Dodo is the merchant of record. Checkout, receipts, taxes, and refund requests are handled on its hosted service. A refund or chargeback revokes the license automatically. A license may be restored on devices you control, but may not be resold or publicly shared.
Availability
The local workbench is intended to remain useful offline. Embedded simulations and license verification require their respective services to be online. We may improve or discontinue future hosted functionality; this does not limit use of exported files or the MIT-licensed library.
Liability
To the extent allowed by law, Sim Lab Replay and its maintainers are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from the software, a linked simulation, or a lesson’s content.
Questions
